FAQ

Questions We Get Every Week

Estimates, insurance, permits, pricing, and schedule — answered plainly.

Do you charge for estimates?

+

No. Site reviews and written estimates are free anywhere in the five boroughs. We walk the site, take measurements, and send scope and pricing in writing.

Are you licensed and insured?

+

Yes. Summit Structural Services LLC carries general liability and workers' compensation coverage. Certificates of insurance are provided to GCs, owners, and building management on request.

Do you work as a subcontractor for general contractors?

+

Most of our volume is concrete labor subcontracted to GCs and construction managers. We also take direct work from property owners and building managers.

How fast can you mobilize?

+

Small flatwork and repair jobs typically start within one to two weeks. Foundation and formwork packages are scheduled around permits, inspections, and the GC's sequence.

Do you pull permits?

+

We work under the permits held by the GC or owner and coordinate directly with expeditors and inspectors. For standalone sidewalk and driveway work we can advise on the DOT permit process.

What does a concrete job cost in NYC?

+

Every project is priced after a site review. Access, demolition, disposal, reinforcement, finish, and inspection requirements drive the number more than square footage alone. We never quote firm pricing sight unseen.

How long does concrete take to cure before use?

+

Foot traffic is generally fine after 24–48 hours, vehicle traffic after 7 days, and full design strength is reached around 28 days. We give you a written schedule per pour.

Do you handle demolition and disposal?

+

Yes. Saw cutting, breakout, removal, and legal disposal are part of our standard scope on replacement work.

Can you work winters?

+

Yes, with cold-weather protocols — heated blankets, admixtures, and enclosures when temperatures require it. We will tell you when a pour should wait.

What are your hours?

+

Mon–Sat, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Emergency structural calls are handled outside those hours at (929) 425-3347.
